Arthur Illtyd Prichard was Private 3888 in the 1/15th Battalion London Regiment (Civil Service Rifles). At the age of 35 he was killed in action on 21 May 1916.
He is named on the Arras Memorial Faubourg d’Amiens.
Son of Illtyd Moline and Ellen Adelaide Prichard, 34 Blessington Rd, Lewisham. He was Private Secretary to First Commissioner of Works.
The battalion war diary: “At 2.00am ‘B’ Company counter-attacked the Germans, very heavy rifle and machine gun fire was opened by the enemy, supported by a strong artillery barrage. We got into, and secured Granby Street. Relieved midnight 22nd to 23rd. Casualties, 2 officers and 90 other ranks.”
