Rimer, Arthur M

Arthur M Rimer, Private STK/519 10th Battalion Royal Fusiliers. Died of wounds 23 July 1916 aged 29.

He was buried in Stoke D’Abernon Churchyard.

Son of Henry and Catherine Rimer, 6 Woodside, Ewell Park, Surbiton. His father was a solicitor, as was Arthur, who in 1911 lived at ‘Botolph’, Oxshott,Leatherhead.

Arthur died of wounds in hospital at Brighton; as it is not known when he was wounded, it cannot be ascertained where they were sustained, but his Battalion had been involved about La Boiselle and Pozieres from the 8th to the 16th of July during the first weeks of the Battle of the Somme.
