Worthington, Claude Swanwick

Claude Swanwick Worthington, Lieutenant Colonel, D.S.O. and Bar, 6th Battalion Manchester Regiment, attached to 5th Battalion Dorset Regiment.

Died of wounds on 14 October 1918, aged 41.

He is buried in Mont Huon Cemetery, Le Treport.

Son of Thomas and Edith Worthington of Broomfield, Alderley Edge, Cheshire.

It is not known when Claude was wounded, but 5th Dorsets were heavily involved from 2nd to 7th October in the battles for the crossing of the Schelde and Sensee canals, North of Cambrai.
