Lakeland Book of the Year Awards 2017

“Nowt but a fleein’ thing” is joint runner up in the Lakeland Book of the Year Awards.

Out of 70 books entered for the Lakeland Book of the Year Award the FRCC book “Nowt but a fleein” thing” won the Latitude Press Award for the “Best Illustration and Production” class. It was then awarded joint overall runner up with the book “Encounters with Wainwright” produced by the Wainwright Society. The overall winner of Book of the Year was “The Marshes” by Rory Stewart.

Club members and joint authors Al Phizacklea and Mike Cocker received the awards at the Armathwaite Hall Hotel.

The judges for the competition were Hunter Davies, Eric Robson and Fiona Armstrong.
