New Nesting Birds Restriction – Gowbarrow Crag, Ullswater (Eastern Crags)

It has just been reported that a pair of Ravens have nested and successfully hatched young on the Upper Tier/Buttress at Gowbarrow. To protect the nest site until the young fledge an access restriction has been agreed, THIS ONLY APPLIES TO THE UPPER TIER.

There is no restriction on the Lower and Middle Tiers other than those for non-recreational groups wishing to use the crag. (See Eastern Crags Guidebook or BMC RAD for details regarding group use).

The normal period of restriction to protect Ravens Nests is 15 February to 31 May, if this needs to be extended further details will be posted here, on The BMC RAD and on UKC
