Please Help Mountain Rescue
There is an open petition asking for Rescue Teams in England and Wales to be fully exempted from VAT for all team purchases. The high demand for Mountain Rescue, particularly in the Lake District, combined with the need to employ modern technology means that Mountain Rescue teams have to spend a great deal of money on equipment. They currently pay VAT on these purchases despite the fact that all their funds have to be raised by public donation.
