Route:Donkey's Years

Length:30m

Grade:MVS

Crag:Bowder Crag Borrowdale p211

Climbers:BJ Clarke (solo)

Date climbed:06.03.06

Description:After a poor start, an ascent of the two clean aretes high up the ridge 12 metres right of "Balder's Buttress" gives a worthwhile outing. Start 4 metres up and right of the toe of the ridge at some scrappy cracks. 1 13m (4b). Climb the deceptive cracks and move up left to belay on the large multi-stemmed tree. 2 8m (4a). Move right, step off the spike and climb the first arete via its left-trending ramp to a cosy ledge behind a juniper. 3 9m (4a). Climb the upper arete direct at first, then use a series of holds on its left side to reach the top. Tree belay at the descent path.
