Mark, We met each other at the bottom of Neckband Crag, the morning of friday 17th March, the day you claim to have climbed this new winter route. I introduced you to a friend of mine Nigel and we talked about the winter conditions on the day. The weather had obviously warmed up at that altitude, as the crag and rocks were black and wet, there was no snow on any of the rocks and the turf wasn't even frozen as we had a pock about with an ice axe. We had set out to climb on Neckband Crag but it was obviously out of condition for any winter climbing, so we carried on up another 250m to Cambridge Crag and found some winter sport there. I have to ask the question Mark as to what you call winter conditions, calling it a first winter ascent and grading it winter VI 8?
