Out of interest did anyone ever plant a replacement tree at Sergeant Crag slabs, and if not what type should it be and where should it be sited???

Presumably we want a native tree and not an import, and also we need it to be fast growing and hardy with a rough rather than a smooth bark to prevent it being worn away.

I assume nobody would have any objection to a sapling suddenly appearing here. After all there used to be a tree which we destroyed, so it should be replaced!
