Minor Errors

The following minor errors have been noted:

Pxi. Area Map should be in italics.
P28. Last para "previous editions listed on page 4" should read "previous editions listed on page vi ".
P248. Akhnaton Pitch 4 should be numbered Pitch 3.
P278. The top disc on V3 should be blue, not green.
P339. The photo was taken by Sally Baxendale, not Sarah Bailey.
P392. Tapestry, RG Wilson should be RG Willison.
P258/9. Downlen's Chimney should be Dowlen's Chimney and the FA details on P387 should also be corrected as should other mentions in the book and on the diagram on P252.

PILLAR
Angler's Crag (p333)

The following first ascent information was received from Doug Elliot, unfortunately, due to an email malfunction, too late for inclusion in the guide.

The first routes recorded on Angler's Crag were by Joe Williams in 1938, but he climbed Shadow Wall, not Phantom Groove. At the time Shadow Wall finished up the top part of what later became Phantom Groove.

Holly Tree Groove (or possibly Holly Tree Corner) started from a sentry box to the right of Midge Arete, where a miner's initials are carved, but is now overgrown. First ascent, Joe Williams, 1938
Shep: First ascent, WA Barnes M Salkeld, DA Elliott, 1961

Angel's Step Buttress
Gog: This shoud be called Grog, first ascent by D Byrne, WA Barnes, 1961 (Gog was on Crag Fell Pinnacles)

Hook, Line & Sinker Buttress

Crystal Groove: First ascent, unknown but ca 1959

"Routes such as Desparate Dan, A Face Remembered, Aneurism etc are variations and were done earlier than the 1980s"

PILLAR
Crag Fell Pinnacles (p339)
Gog: was on Crag Fell Pinnacles, not on Angler's Crag (the route there was called Grog). It was climbed by Joe Williams, along with Magog and Eastern Crack in 1948, but unfortunately the description has been lost.
