Charlotte Mason

In the 80's this was the Wall in the Lakes - it was the centre of the Lakes climbing machine. The development of other walls has now left it behind - there is however talk of developing the wall but no details known - suggest contact Rock and Run or Charlotte Mason College for updates.

Ambleside Climbing Wall

Ambleside climbing wall has recently been redeveloped. New resin holds have been added to the breeze-block walls and belay bars have been installed at the top of two vertical walls, with four new belay chains above an impending wall.

It is suitable for teaching groups single pitch techniques, as well as being an excellent bouldering and training facility for individuals.

New heating and specialist matting has also been installed, it is adjacent to a sports hall which houses a weights/conditioning room.

*No special rate for staff partners
*Passport photo needed for membership cards

Cost £20.00 (for two hours)
* Maximum number in group - 15 people
* Staff must hold SPA. Award
* Cannot book more than one month in advance


UCSM - Groups
* Must book sessions one month in advance
*The climbing wall key can be obtained from the Sports Hall
