I think the description is wrong. Also I think this route is much better done as one long pitch. It is then 3 stars. The position of the ring peg is incorrect on the diagram on page 353.
When you climb the route the logical finish is straight up, passing right of the ledge that has a ring peg on it, to climb the fine flake crack above. This crack is well used and this is the finish described in the previous guide (Buttermere and Eastern Crags 1987).

Referring to the diagram on page 353: The position of the ring peg is incorrect. It is on the flat ledge approximately where the no. 15 is placed on the diagram.
