FRCC Statements

The Fell & Rock Climbing Club (FRCC) was founded in 1906 and original rule 2 reminds us that "The objects of the Club shall be to encourage the pursuits of fell walking and rock climbing particularly in the English Lake District, to serve as a bond of union for its Members and to enable them to meet together, to provide for them books, maps, slides and other equipment, information and advice, to protect the amenities of the District, and to guard and promote the general interests of mountaineers."

Participation Statement - "The FRCC recognises that climbing and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions and involvement."

Equity Statement - "The FRCC encourages its members to adopt a positive approach to equal opportunities and the elimination of discrimination. The FRCC values the support of all its members in its work to promote the interests of climbers, fell walkers and mountaineers."

FRCC Organisation - The FRCC is a democratic body controlled by its membership through an elected committee. "The management of the Club shall be vested in a Committee consisting of the Officers together with twelve members elected as hereinafter provided and such additional Members not exceeding four in number as the Committee for the time being may decide to co-opt"
