Climbing and Walking

Waters Cottage forms an ideal base for walking or climbing in the Western Highlands with easy access to the Mamores, the Glen Coe hills and Ben Nevis.

History

Waters Cottage was purchased by the FRCC in 1990 as a former police station (the ladies shower is now in the old cell). It was bought partly using a legacy gifted to the club by Chris Waters for £40,350.

When the club took ownership, the Civil Defence Building (CDB) was separate from the main hut and not heated. In 2000, the club built the “link” to incorporate the CDB into the main hut (again, using part of a legacy from Mollie Hyde-Parker)
