Winter climbs in the Lake District – a joint FRCC/Cicerone Press publication.
In good conditions the district is a very accessible venue for quality winter climbing without the privations of a big day a Scottish hill. Over the last few winters there have been some excellent conditions, consequently there has been a lot of activity in the gullies and on the crags with many new routes being climbed. Unfortunately this popularity has led to some controversy/conflict and it is important that climbers adhere to the agreements that have been agreed to protect fragile habitats in gullies and the rock on open buttress climbs. Detailed guidance on minimising any damage to flora or rock climbs can be seen here Lakes White Guide – ONLINE VERSION.
Details of all new routes and route comments posted on the old website since 2013 are shown in the following file.
