This is a bit of a change from the bigger challenges of the Alps and beyond. Many AC members will have visited the Lake District and this talk is about climbing the 214 Wainwright tops there without the use of a car and instead relying on public transport and old-fashioned human power.

AC member Ron Kenyon along with members of his local Eden Valley Mountaineering Club achieved carless ascents in 2023 and he has recently published a book, Wainwrights Without a Car, which lays out their experiences and offers lots of advice.
