Route Feedback: The Shroud VS
Posted by: Astrid Saxby, 27.09.2025 Warning! Large block (microwave sized) detached from the crux of pitch 2 of the route. Possible loose rock left behind.
Additional commentThere was a significant amount of rockfall from The Shroud on Black Crag in Borrowdale today around the crux on pitch 2 where the rockfall occurred. The main block was the size of an adult’s torso but there was a lot of small bits of loose rock around too. (Editor taken from CC Facebook)
There is a a way around this area which allows you to do the route without going near the rockfall area. Will post with a Topo.
There is an alternative way of climbing the route avoiding the suspect area to the left. Will post a topo and description.
