Stay in Culligran Cottages https://www.culligrancottages.co.uk/ One of the main advantages is that the cottages are the Strathfarrar side of the locked gate giving unlimited access for the week. Stalking finishes Oct 20th and many routes are unaffected anyway. Contact Jane if interested
Geomorphology Meet This midweek meet (following on from the November Committee Meeting weekend) will involve days out on the hill as well as evening presentations. Topics: Basic overview of the structural geology of the Lakes in relation to present landforms. Landscape features resulting from the actions of ice and water.
Come and experience the Cairngorms in winter and enjoy an informal and friendly weekend at Karn House. No specific activities will be organised; just bring your gear and hope for good weather…bad weather options are always available! Mince pies and Christmas cake will be provided, the rest is up to you.
Don’t be fooled by the name – no temperance here! After a day out doing whatever you choose on Saturday, return to Birkness for mulled wine, mince pies and savoury nibbles, followed by a curry feast in the evening (non-spicy option available) and optional post-prandial party games.
