Following the significant rock fall in 2020 that impacted routes on the right hand side of the Helm Crag. The area has now settled and most of the loose rock has joined what was left of Bentley on the scree slope below. A new direct start to B.S.M. has been climbed providing an independant and sustained line. The new start also provides access to the upper section of Proton via a short traverse left. Start right of the rock scar at the right side of the buttress. Climb the wall and slim groove (bold) to a small ledge, follow the wide vertical crack above to a stance below the steep arête. After an initial smeary move to reach a good hold on the edge (small nut runner on the slab), better holds lead to an exit through the oak tree.
