Eliminator 8m E2 5b

Between Cold Pike and Lower Gaitkins is a slab of perfect tuff, up to 7m or 8m high at the centre. It is visible 100m directly uphill from the top of Dream Buttress.

Eliminator: Eliminating completely the dirty lefthand crack for holds and gear, climb the slab immediately to the right with minimal protection. Holds keep on coming, giving excellent and thrilling climbing. Although it may seem contrived at the start, the crack becomes further out of reach with height and the challenge is obvious. Arguably, the hardest moves are at the top. A side-runner could be arranged, at a lower grade.

  1. I may have slightly overcooked the grades for this and Be Still… perhaps E1 5b? At lowest, E1 5a… or perhaps E2 5b is right? See what others say. Feels quite subjective, as depends on tolerance of boldness. Very comparable to Purple Haze and The Great Pretender on Little Stand.
