Perfect rough rock with adequate protection. Start at the lowest point of the slab. Climb up leftwards to the grooveline in the centre of the slab which is followed to a grass ledge. Continue to the summit.

  1. Kidsty Pike Summit Slab.
    GR>447126 Alt. 780 metres.
    South facing.
Situated directly below Kidsty Pike summit, topping out on the summit.Perfect rough rock, quick drying.
1hr. 50min. approach time from Hawes Water carpark.
Compact rock but protection available with a normal rack.

  2. Climbed this on a top-rope with a shunt, grade seems ok anything could be pushed up to severe as protection is not overly abundant. Rock is compact and very rough, so excellent friction.
I also climbed two lines to the right on the shunt. A line up the right hand side of the wall felt a similar grade to golden eagle, and a line between these two felt a little harder perhaps hard severe. I didn’t lead these however as I was in my own so can’t claim a first ascent.
