Route Comment: Pisgah East Traverse (Crowley Route)

The description of this climb on Pisgah, which was soloed by Aleister Crowley 27/4/1894, was  unearthed from the Wasdale Climbing Book by Mike Cocker. It has never appeared in a climbing guide and we may have made the second ascent!

Pisgah East Traverse (Crowley Route) 10m, MS, 1894. From the highest point of the Jordan Gap, traverse leftwards on grass to the leftmost corner. Make an awkward move up this and hand traverse leftwards to gain a ridge which leads to the summit. Stephen & Sally Reid
