The 2016 guide shows the first ascentionists as G. Fisher and R. Richardson. Earlier guides show V. Veevers and G. Fisher. I believe the latter to be correct.

Slings is first mentioned in Jack Carswell’s ‘Climbs Old and New’ article in the 1951 FRCC Journal (Vol 16-1) with the FA team being VV and G Fisher. In the 1953 Borrowdale guide Beetham erroneously credited the FA to Fisher and Richardson. Nunn & Woolcock corrected this in their 1968 edition and the route remained credited to VV & GF until the 2016 edition where it reverted to Beetham’s erroneous accreditation.
