Lower buttress can be reached by descending from the main path. Route starts at the fallen Oak/Yew of the lower buttress . Climb the groove/crack to the slab then chimney to the top.

  1. This crag was first developed by the late Steve Hubbard back in the 1970’s. I think mentioned details were recorded in an old Lancashire guidebook, but I can’t remember which one. He did about a dozen lines here.

    Understood, but this route is on the lower crag and it was behind the Yew tree that blocked the route for many years. Unless, Steve climbed it when it was in situ, difficult as the tree was pressed against the crag, and it only blew down in November 21. Shame there’s no extant record of his endeavours.
