Greetings! This is the first meet that we have organised as Associate Members and we hope to make it a good one. As the name implies it is before the weekend of the Music Meet and as a midweek meet hopefully will appeal to all looking for something to do away from the weekends. We believe a few people intend on staying over for the music meet too, so hopefully Raw Head will be busy all week.

I’m sure most people will be familiar with Langdale, there is so much to offer from the huts superb location that in many cases it means the car is just to get you there and back and can be forgotten about for the stay. There are lots of options for the days and can be arranged the evening before with fellow minded members. If the weather is kind, an easy climb up Bowfell Buttress on to the tops and a walk round is a particular favourite of David’s so please join me if you fancy it. Who knows what weather we may have at the beginning of March, maybe snow still, gullies may be in condition for Winter enthusiasts? Maybe it’ll be mild and the tops clear of a Winters scene. Either way there’s plenty of walking, scrambling, climbing from the door of the hut.

For those who fancy it and can make it, then on the Tuesday we are planning meeting at the hut by 10am in order to head out walking by 10.30. Route very much weather dependent but hopefully on to the Langdale Pikes, to Stake Pass and down Mickleden, possibly with a little dampening of the tongue in the ODG on the return.

We are planning a communal meal for the second evening, Wednesday the 8^th. The plan is a curry evening, there will be a vegetarian curry for those that require. We are planning on arranging all the starters, main and puds for that evening and would ask that people then contribute equally to the cost. If you don’t want to be a part of this or have other dietary needs, please feel free to do your own thing, but let us know so we can cater accordingly.

We also have planned a mountaineering quiz for that evening and something additional that Karen is keeping close to her chest!!!
