FRCC Rock Climbing Guidebooks
FRCC has produced pocket climbing guidebooks to the Lakes for a century, the first (Doe/Dow Crag) was produced in 1922 and a further four titles, produced between 1922 and 1926, completed coverage of the district. These became known as the Red Guides owing to their distinctive soft red leatherette covers. Copies of them can be viewed in the Archive section of the website
Lake District New Climbs 2018
From time to time the FRCC has produced New Climbs supplements, to make the information available pending production of new guidebooks. These were small printed booklets, sold in climbing shops. The last of these was in 2018. They are considered no longer necessary as all the information is freely available in the Climbing section of the club website.
The last one ‘Lake District New Climbs and Notes 2018’ is made available here as some of the climbs are not yet in guidebooks and not currently available elsewhere on our website.
