CLOSURE OF CAR PARK BELOW GRANGE CRAGS (CAR PARK CRAG)

Following a substantial rockfall from above Car Park Crag (GR 255 179), near Grange – after inspection and due to consideration about the possibility of further similar rockfalls the National Trust have closed the right-hand side of the car park below the crag.
This car park is used by climbers going to the crag above and also Black Crag and Shepherds Crag as well as for walkers walking in the area.

It is hoped that work can be done to extend the left-hand side of the car park to end up with parking for a similar number of cars – but this will take some time.

There is parking further up the valley near the Bowder Stone/Quayfoot Buttress (GR 254168)
