Just to let you all know, the ‘plan’ for the Rockstars fundraiser meet.
1) A ‘normal’ walking/climbing meet as weather permits with everybody doing their own thing.
2) A chance to look at stars and planets if the weather plays fair and there are few clouds on Friday and Saturday nights. I will bring my 8″ telescope and set it up in the field by the side of the lake below the hut. Sunset is 18:25 with the Moon setting behind High Crag. The planets are quite low in the sky so we might struggle to get Jupiter and Saturn. However, there are lots of interesting visual objects (galaxies and nebulae [glowing gas clouds]) to see a bit later, but don’t expect the colours you see in photographs. Such photos are long exposures – minutes to hours – and your eye just isn’t sensitive enough.
3) If there is a demand, then I could prepare a curry [chicken (with a veggie option of quorn ) jalfrezi] with any profits going to the Brackenclose fund.
Book your own hut places in the normal manner and let me know by email if you are interested in ‘food’.

I’d be interested in this for myself and a friend, so 2 beds in the communal female dorm if possible please.

Hi Lisa. I just spotted your comment on the FRCC website about the meet this weekend. I’m sorry to say that the meet is fully booked and there are no female places available. It’s been full for weeks and I had a waiting list. One male bed became available last night, but that is of no use to you. I’ve emailed you direct as well.
