Start in the steep corner right of Citadel.
42m. 4b. Climb the corner pull up left to access a long leftwards sloping ledge. An exposed traverse left leads to a large ledge on the arete ( junction with Penetrate ) Follow the arete up to a large detached block below a short slab. Climb the slab to finish up a fine serpentine crack.
A general comment for the next guidebook. I know the topo line of Penetrate was wrong in the latest Frcc guidebook but looking at your photo/topo line above it appears that most of Penetrate is identical to Rampart (as per the guidebook Topo) the only difference being the first 6m, is it therefore just a variation start to Rampart at a more amenable grade? Storm Bringer looks a nice addition but obviously finishes up the same slab line as Citadel although it does look like a fair bit of additional cleaning has gone on at the top. I think route lengths need checking out here, It doesn’t add up that Penetrate is 40m, Storm Bringer is 42m yet Rampart and Citadel starting alongside are circa 22m. I am not saying which figures are correct but it is something that needs checking out for the next guide.
